That's lovely Mags. I love the moon and all things space actually, fascinates me.

1st October! 9 months sober now for me, feels like a huge achievement and I love sobriety, its something I feel I need to be aware of but it doesn't dominate my thoughts as much anymore. I read lots of quit lit still, play the tape forward and remain conscious of anything that might trigger me and make plans. I post and read here regularly because SR has been a huge part of my recovery, the people here are so incredibly kind and supportive.
Saoutchik, your right about cost of living, its all quite insane 😳 today is the energy price hike and something I think we've all been dreading, we can only hope things improve soon in all aspects.
Red, hope things are going well for you, you can do this.
Congrats on 320 Calmself.
Thanks Kaily, I can't wait to be a Full year sober, hope the dreams Pass soon.
CaptainHaddock I also thought Athens was from Greece as well lol, what a horrid dream of being kidnapped.
Hope everyone affected by the hurricane is she and well still.
Bit of a lay in today which is unusual and nice, and just a few jobs this morning, busy day with the kids tomorrow and just generally eating lots of yummy food this weekend.
Have a great day all.

Good Morning Weekenders!

A lovely poem Mags. I love seeing the moon.

I'm now one month sober, yesterday was day 30 and it's a great way to start my favourite month of the year.

Britbird, I've worked out my gas and electricity prices went up by 30% overnight . Thankfully I've got the money to pay the extra but I feel really sorry for people who are already struggling with the 50%+ increase there was back in April.

With regards to covid, my sense of taste is slowly returning. I had a banana this morning that vaguely tasted like a banana rather than a piece of cardboard. I keep having to clear my throat and blow my nose. I just feel like I've got a heavy cold. Thankfully the feeling of exhaustion was lifting yesterday. I haven't retested myself as the guidance is to do a second test 5 days after a positive test so I'll do that on Monday. I've been out for a couple of short walks in the past few days, I didn't have much energy but managed to walk for about 20 minutes both times. I just made sure I kept away from other people.

I hope everyone has a good, sober, Saturday

Morning Weekenders!

Robbie, it’s great to start sober October with a one month head start. I’m glad you are feeling a bit better and your sense of taste is slowly coming back. Hopefully you will soon be making that curry that you fancied a week or so ago.

Mags, the moon poem is so true. I love the moon. Over the years I have made many attempts to take a decent photograph, with mixed results. Here are a few of them that are far from perfect, but were at least spared from being deleted.

The moon discussion is timely. We watched a movie last night titled 'Moon', that was pretty good.

BritBird congratulations on 9 months sober.

Robbie. Pleased you’re getting your taste back. Congratulations on 1 month sober.

CaptainHaddock. The moon pics are brilliant love them. I can often be seen taking pics of the moon very early in a morning but they’re never great.

That is lovely Kaily. It looks like the road less trodden, although I think I can see a few bicycle tracks in the gravel. I wouldn’t mind living in a secluded spot in the country like that, even if the city may be relatively close by.

Thanks Captain. Yes it is very quiet, I only saw one other person on that path which is about 3 miles long and just on the edge of London. From there I went into a country park which was busier but not busy. In all I walked for just under 3 hours making a circular route so no going back on myself. It is a beautiful sunny day here without being too warm, perfect for walking.

Congratulations on your respective milestones BritBird, Robbie.

Thanks for that insightful poem about the Moon Mags, it's true, I think we would make a bigger deal out of it if we saw it less often. That said, I hardly ever see it or any stars in my part of the world.

Great pics Captain, Kaily, Alpine.

End of Day 322 - slept last night for 11 hrs 20 minutes straight. First time that long ever since I remember. Peaceful, deep sleep. Thanks to sobriety.
Lets stay sober today. Good night from Seattle.
