Good movie. It shows the horrors of addiction to those who may not get it.

Stopped going to theaters many years ago, but actually went and paid to see that movie when new because of the Alcoholic theme.

Amazing it's been 10 years already!

Watched it on Netflix and i was after a few beers the first time i saw it. Didnt like it first time round as it probably hit a nerve or 2
Watched it again this summer glad i took the ferry for my holiday but there are lots of familiar behaviours. A great movie and i think i had a better understanding than the few people I watched it with.

One of my favorite movies about alcoholism. Denzel Washington really nailed it.

Excellent work by Denzel. Just finished it, and will be adding this one to my library for sure.

I did the same thing. The way Denzel made his voice crack ever so slightly was amazing. So moving.

I watched it several years ago. It was difficult to watch, and I did cry at several points. I thought it was a pretty accurate portrayal of what people call a "functional" alcoholic. I have issues with that term, but that's for a different thread. I need to watch it again, if only because I may have a different perspective now than I did when I was about a year sober. And because it's a good movie. I identified with quite a bit of it.
