Day 60 - Didn't think I'd make it on day 1
Hi guys,
I don't have much to be proud of over the last few years, but I am today with 60 days on the water wagon. I'm wearing a big smile on my chops!
I just hope pride doesn't come before a fall.
Thanks to everyone for their support, with respect and appreciation to you all - kes

Huge congrats on two months, kes.
Totally 100% up to You whether or not you ever drink again.
At this point, it's all psychological.
I had to work on a lot of emotional and psychological issues when I sobered up. Decades of stuffing things down and decades of dysfunctional thinking. That's where the real miracle happened for me.

Right on Kes! If the desire get's strong or if something happens in your life that gives that desire permission to have power over you, pick up that 1000lb cell phone and call a friend who cares about your sobriety. You can DM me for my cell# if you'd like; I'm always around to talk.
Kes, I didn't even think I could make it a week without drinking......that was 97 days ago and I haven't had a drink, a sip or a whiff of poison since. I wish I could tell it's easy, but that would be a lie. For the first time in about 20 years, I'm having to deal with emotions with a sober mind and it's scary AF somedays.
Don't fear or feel ashamed to reach out to us this weekend if it get's tough. Every single person in this forum understands you and knows your demon.

Kudos on day 60, that is awesome!!! Carry this inspirational reminder with you going forward. When you encounter difficulties, replay the reminder and go "yeah but I proved myself wrong". You have way more strength and fortitude than you give yourself credit for. Just remember to use humility to keep yourself right sized because you don't want to pat yourself on the back too much and get cocky and over confident. You can do this!

Hi bro's and sisters,
60 days - it's only a number, but it's the longest I've been without alcohol in 26 years
Thanks again. I get more from this site and your kind words than any medication the doc gives me. Your encouragement is priceless guys

Thanks Farrier,
I will check in and if anyone out there's lurking and I can help in any way, I'm happy to.
I may come across as very opionated in my views, It's something I'm working on. Hope people understand, It's just the way I've always been and I'm addressing it. I'm typical Aries Brit, and half ukranian and believe me they're stubborn people Ukranians!!
Bw,
Kes

It's totally appropriate that you should be proud of your 60 days. In my opinion, a fall cannot be caused by pride. Thinking you have done so well that you deserve a drink would cause a fall, but that's not pride. It's an irrational thought from your AV, and it has been the cause of many a fall.
