SoberLeigh, when I was little I remember many people had fig trees planted where the washer pipe drained out. That's a good idea about catching the shower water.

Aly, I hope you have a good day with your mom.

Hate to think about all those bottles and cans that used to get stashed everywhere.

That’s really cool, CityBoy. Down spouts that emptied into water barrels were popular for a while; they had a spot for a hose attachment so that one could water where desired (gardens, individual trees, etc.).

Thanks for the tips on saving water Leigh. I did buy boxed wine too which was great (:yikes) for getting rid of the evidence. How sad. And grim.

Aly, take it easy love. You must be sore after your ablations.

Alpine, hope you’re feeling a bit better today love

Still not feeling great.
Where I just moved from it was illegal to collect rain from the down spouts, you had to let is just run into the ground and their feeling was that it would eventually make it to the farmer's land.

I hope you feel better soon Alpine. That is a strange law that says you can't collect rainwater from your own roof. I can't imagine there was too much enforcement.

Thank you all for your kindness, Sao, Mags, Leigh, CityBoy, and any of you who expressed compassion and kindness. I am so grateful for this funny, intelligent, supportive and kind group of wonderful people!
We got the library, like 20 books, my mom is a reader and then we went to the grocery store. I went in and mom waited in the car. She has a disabled parking plate, so we get good parking if we take her car. Glad we got that over with. Now, in about 45 minutes or so, I'm going to take her to her doctor's appt. I may just wait in the car. Like Mags said, I'm still not feeling 100% yet. I can watch her and it's all close together.
Feel better, Alpine.💗

Love all you so very much.

That seems like an odd ordinance about no rain barrels. I used to be on a water conservation board and we would encourage rain barrels to prevent use of city or aquifer water when possible. One of the guys would make and sell them.

Hoping that everyone is feeling better this afternoon.

Aly, 20 books would have me covered for about five years.

Went to the grocery store to get a couple of things. The guy in line behind me only had a big case of beer in tall bottles. I commented that you don't see those big cases of tall bottles very often. On a scale of 0 to 10, it made me think about getting one on a level of about 0.1. Very nearly not at all. His recycle bin will be full of those bottles, if it isn't already.

Yup, people got fined in my neighborhood for having them. It is considered stealing because it should get into the ground and flow to others.

Least have you heard of Pillow Slides? They’re slipper shoes they call “pillows for your feet” and supposedly help with pain and discomfort. I ordered a pair & also for my mom….I can let you know what we think!
