My fav cod CB, from a restaurant I use a lot. I guess it went wrong in the preparation/handling. I called the restaurant and told them, and they are invested in finding the cause. I could hear the fear though....gosh....I don't want to sue anyone, just make sure no one else gets food poisoning.

Well... I'm excited to say I made it an entire day without drinking. Took my son to the movies, went grocery shopping, cooked dinner, made banana bread for desert. Looking forward to a good night's sleep and an early rise tomorrow morning with a good cup of coffee. Thank you all for the warm welcome this morning and support. Planning on doing this sober thing tomorrow too.

Hiya Weekenders

Welcome to SR MCAL

Good work AC

Marty pleased you’re feeling better. Surprising how it lingers though.

MantaLady, sorry you had a trip to A&E pleased there wasn’t a clot love. Take it easy at home. Sending lots of gentle hugs and love x

Suze hope you’re soon feeling back to normal. food poisoning is horrible. I had it years ago from mushrooms. Put me off them for years.

It’s raining here. Thankfully 🙏 I’ve not actually danced in it like the pic but I did feel the rain on my face. Wonderful.

Love to all the Weekenders xxxx

Well wishes to all those feeling poorly.

Well done AC! Repeat that everyday and you will be permanently sober. So simple yet insidiously difficult but very achievable with a vigilant mind.

Mags, rain, what's that?

Well the party here wasn't too bad and to keep my sanity I went out for the afternoon. When I got home there was another party on the other side of me too. I felt like a party sandwich

Noise was bearable with windows and doors shut. My biggest concern was at midnight I glanced out of my window and they had a massive fire pit burning furiously. I feared they would lose control of it in the small garden. Very irresponsible in these dry conditions. I was tempted to call the fire brigade ...

On a brighter note, my Hibiscus is loving life this summer

PJ, she looks quite comfy in her chair. . The fact that she can lay with her belly exposed shows she trusts you.

Son in law came over and took Billie out. He is so good to me and I am so grateful, and I told him so. They make me feel wanted and loved. . I am so glad I moved out here.

Daily, your hibiscus is lovely. You are right to be concerned about them having a big fire. Not good conditions for it. Very careless on their part.

Kaily, the hibiscus looks very nice. Can you make hibiscus tea from the flowers?

Least, very glad it's working out so well there.

Roxy does look very relaxed.

Venus, I hope your stomach is back normal today.

AC, looking forward to seeing you around the coffee pot this morning.

oh I don’t PJ, Mr. Mags thinks he’s in the Olympics doing the pole vault when he’s asleep. Roxy would make a good pole vaulter.

Least I’m pleased you moved there too.

Kaily, gorgeous hibiscus. I thought no one would be having barbecues or open fires outside, specially after that terrible house fire a few days ago. Glad it wasn’t too noisy.

Welcome to Weekenders MCAL880!

MantaLady, i'm sorry you are being plagued with this health crap but at least a chest infection is well understood and easily treatable. Fingers crossed it clears up soon.

Your garden looks lovely Kaily.

I heard on the radio this morning of a man who went to sleep in his sleeper compartment in the overnight sleeper train from Glasgow to London and woke up still in Glasgow as they cancelled the service at the last minute and somewow missed telling him. He wasn't best pleased.

AC, way to go!! That is awesome. Keep it up.
Manta, gosh that is scary. Happy to hear it was not a clot
PJ, looks like that belly is waiting for a pat or a rub
Kaily, those are beautiful. I am also happy the neighbors were not too loud.
Mags, happy you are getting some rain.
We are supposed to get some strong storms here today with lots of rain. Nothing else really planned. We were going to go paddle boarding but Mr. Alpine wanted a lazy day since he has to head out of town tomorrow. He has been working so hard. Doing well in my corner of the world despite some strong triggers.

Good morning everyone. So happy to wake up and know that I accomplished my goal of not drinking yesterday. Now... if I can make it two days in a row, that will REALLY give me some confidence. I've made a day a few times here and there over the past several years, but always blow it on day two. I figured, coming in here and being honest, might help keep my accountable.

Enjoying my coffee now and listening to some smooth jazz. I like this quiet time before my son gets up. Feels so much better to be up and ready for the day to get going vs. dreading coming to and having him wake me up and asking me to get out of bed. I will fix us a yummy breakfast here in a little bit.

Wishing everyone a happy and sober Sunday! As always, thank you for the support.

CB I have no idea about hibiscus tea. I wouldn't anyway, I would rather let the bees have them and enjoy the view.

Mags, normal people wouldn't be having fires in these conditions. Neighbours aren't normal.

Least, I am pleased you and Billie are being taken care of now.

Sao that is funny! Not so much for the man I guess.

Little Daisy dicing with danger this morning .

LOL! He must have thought he was on the smoothest, quietest train ever.

Kaily that looks like the sort of place my golf balls end up when I play. Is that blue thing hers?

Good Morning Weekenders

Many Monday mornings starting back at work after an alcohol fuelled weekend in the past. I never tire of no hangover, no regrets after a sober weekend (and week )

Kaily, Daisy wasn’t going to lose her toy that’s for sure.

Have a good day and shout out if you’re struggling or just want to shout out.

Morning Mags,

Thank you for the thread this week. Sobriety is far from boring. Since quitting drinking my interest in my old hobbies has rekindled and I now have so many pastimes there is little room to spare...

Not much news from here. I'm still working hard but trying to achieve some kind of work / life balance. This week I'm considering signing up for an online certified technical course to help with one of my projects which is great but requires commitment for four months and a fair whack of cash upfront. Attempting this would have been foolhardy while I was drinking but now I'm in recovery I can give it a go.

Great to see a few newcomers here - Welcome! Thoughts to those feeling poorly - get well soon. Thanks for the cheery doggy pics :-)

Off to start the working week now... Warm wishes to all as always. Forwards.
