Crikey, it’s 9 years sober for Mags today 20th July 2022

How did it happen? Seems like not long ago I was so pleased I’d reached 9 days.

I reflected on my feelings from when I started my sobriety.

I was stressed, insecure, floundering (a word I used many times).

When I found (SR) SoberRecovery on the internet I felt a lifeline had been thrown to me.

There were other people like me. It meant so much that I didn’t have to do this alone.

I’d failed so many times before, this time it was going to be for good. No fails. No more day 1’s.

In doing so I reached 9 years today. It was hard going for me to learn to live without booze. I’d hidden behind it for so long I didn’t know how to live without it.

I had a million things I wanted to say but I think I’d miss something out.

So I’m going to make it simple and say a special thank you to all of you.

I’m truly grateful and thankful to SR and everyone of it’s members.
