Who has taken your life from you Misstqueent?

Have you seen a doctor to help you get through the withdrawals? Drinking is not going to help, sounds like you might need medication.

Is it withdrawal from alcohol that is causing the voices and the psychosis?

Don't forget to keep posting.

Stay safe.

I'm not sure who 'they' is either. You can cope and you can get through this. Are you on medication for psychosis? Keep reading and posting here for support.

I hope you get supportive help Misstqeent, starting with help with your psychosis. That is a separate issue in itself but drinking only makes things worse and can really mess with your mind. Please reach out if you haven't already. Not drinking can give your life more balance but it's so hard going down this path without supportive services. Start with your area's mental health crisis line. They can refer you to the services you need.

Good luck and God bless you. I hope you reach out today.

Hi misstqueent

You’ve shown yourself you can stop drinking - 17 days is a great start
If you’ve started drinking again I know it’s scary, but it’s simply not true you won’t be able to stop again.

I hope you’ll post again and tell us how you’re doing.

D

Once the physical addiction started to go away the mental ramped up.

I still deal with triggers nearly every day. My triggers can happen any time since I drank off and on any time.

I guess my main defense is knowing what awaits me if I relapse. SR reminds me.

My wife just came down with covid. She is still in the contagious phase so we are being extra care.

I can't help but to think part of why she caught it was because she was drinking booze, lowering her body's immune system.

A strong immune system, not getting sick easy, is by itself a reason to never never never ever ever ever ingest another drop of the poison.

Prayers that you can pull out of the cycle by any means!

Thanks.

Thank you everyone for your lovely replies I guess maybe like my mum said I should get some counselling and instead of blocking it express what I feel. Too many things going on in my head right now don’t know what to believe I hope everyone gets better and lots of blessings to you. Don’t know what i would do without SR.

Hey I was staying strong for so long
Yes you were, but the only way to break the cycle is to be even stronger...and you can. You were on your 17th day, who knows what the magic number will be that the cycle breaks...it could be after 17 days, it could be on day 18,... who knows? Just don't quit 5 minutes before the miracle...because it will happen if you are strong.

I'm glad your still here.

We must be willing to do whatever it takes to get sober.
I know I had to try things this time that I always dismissed for some reason or another before. My AV is who I was listening to not my True Self.
The only one to believe is your True Self. Yours is telling you it needs help. It needs help now.
Listen to that voice.
Help Yourself.
Do whatever it takes.
You will be OK.
It just takes time.

Remember you never have to go through this again if you stay sober.
Life will still get difficult at times but Nowhere near as difficult as they are for you right now in the grips of addiction.

Believe us when we say there is a better life out there and You can have it.

Good to see you posting Misstqueen. I’m pleased you’re getting medical care.
I know alcohol messes with the brain so much. It did mine. Give yourself a chance. One day at a time.

I have mental health issues and am on medications, which we change regularly trying to find something that works. Alcohol affects the efficacy of any of these psych meds. The best thing you can do for your mental health is to quit alcohol.

Everyone here can see you are trying

I hope your meds help the voices and stuff misstqueent - if they're not, the drinking may be affecting them..., or maybe you need to go back to your doctor?
