Sulphites, I expect. In wine and many other products. Makes me wheezy and sneezy.

Treacherous stuff. I remember being at a garden party where I overheard a lady trying to encourage her white-haired old mother to have some, telling her it was non-alcoholic! Golly, it had a borage flower floating in it and everything

OK then, I am taking over for Sue Barker (as Leshar suggested)

What a marvellous day of tennis we have had here at Wimbledon! Although there were no real surprises, there were some very tense moments and a lot of nervous punters; would Nadal's stomach issue see him forfeit the match, or could he play on? As you know, Rafa Nadal never gives up, and today was no exception. So onward now to the semifinals, where Rafa will meet Kyrgios and Novak will play Norrie. Who will advance to the final this year, and who will take out the men's singles title in 2022?

On the ladies' side of the championship, Simona Halep thrilled her fans earlier in the day to win her way into the semis and will meet Amanda Anisimova, who looks to be finding her very best tennis in this tournament. The winner of that match will meet either Jabeur or Maria in what looks to be an incredibly exciting ladies' final.

I don't know what a borage flower is, but that bat is scary!
I believe Pimm's is about 25% ABV. I think. So

Off topic, I have a big resentment over my AP Style Copy Editing class. We had a homework assignment that involved rewriting a brochure that was for a Ladies' financial info night.
I left the word "Ladies" in the brochure, and received a big lecture from my teacher. The word is derogatory and we cannot use it anymore, she said. Um, has anyone mentioned this to the people in the UK? I think not....because it is ridiculous. Wimbledon is not about to change to "women's". It is America that makes that change for them online. If you look at the official website, it is all "ladies" and "gentlemen" as it has been for 100 years.

Venus, I'm confused. Your teacher told you that the term "ladies" is derogatory and is no longer acceptable?

I'll say. It is in the AP Stylebook....no longer allowed usage in stories by any AP reporter, so not allowed in newspapers in America (pretty much). They don't all use AP Style, but it is the standard here.

I'll be curious to see how soon they change the sign that says LPGA Boulevard.

The American press is really an embarrassment. All I can say is don't look at me, as I don't support them. There are enough real things to be anxious about.

Thanks for the excellent Wimbledon reporting Suze!
That is indeed bizarre about the "ladies" issue. I hope it didn't affect your mark too much.

Oh, it did. I ended up with a B+ instead of an A- on the course. But I learned to check the AP Stylebook a lot more carefully.

I am a big tennis fan. Took up playing as an adult. I play on some teams in my town. I was an athlete growing up(basketball, swimming, volleyball, softball, rowing crew) and never knew what a great sport tennis was until I tried it out after my children were all born and I needed an outlet for me. Anyway, I am a Djokovic fan though I wish he would get vaccinated. Not a Kyrgios fan either. Would love to see the Tunisian woman, Jabeur, win. Not a Halep fan. Her grunt is way too long and obnoxious. I like Nadal okay but if Djokovic doesn't win I would like to see someone new.

So that leaves Norrie dear CBS....if he beats Novak on Friday, then he will face Nadal or Kyrgios. And boy would that make the UK happy!
I hear you re Simona; and I love Ons Jabeur. s
