Yes Captain, I used the claw bit of the hammer to clear some of the soil and to hold the tap roots up so I could cut them. I also used it to hit the stump to loosen it without much success .
I would have no idea how to bonsai it.

Leshar I hope your foot heals quickly. I agree walking is very therapeutic and a huge help with mental health. Hopefully you will be back to it soon.

Alpine I hope your foot and hip issues improve soon too.

Sorry you are struggling Tetra. I hope you post whatever you want to, where ever you feel comfortable.

I am aching and all over despite my epsom salt bath.

Thanks folks. Mags, I bought new walking/running shoes and foot pads, but the pain walking this morning was pretty bad. I'm icing both feet now. Sending good healing vibes to all those with aches and pains.

Leshar, when I was in the Burns Unit, they put an exercise bike outside my room. Couldn't walk much...it helped.
Well done on the stump Kaily.
Learnin' dog, Roxy about mornings....that doing her business first thing in the morning has to be in the backyard, not in predawn darkness , 'specially 'cos it's very cold. Not arctic cold, but cold enough for my burnt hand to go purple and have painsies.

Running scared, yes I hear you about that. We lived in CO for 26 years and every year several people drown. If i am on the paddle board I do wear it and now that it is warmer and if I am paddling my canoe close to shore I do not wear one. Close to shore meaning if I should fall in I would be able to stand up in the water.
We did go out paddling today for about 3 hours. It was so nice and peaceful. It got windy and wavy at the end so we could surf some of the waves in our canoes. pretty fun.

Good Morning Weekenders

I've just had a great weekend which consisted of little more than sleeping, walking, eating and watching Wimbledon 🎾 A hangover free weekend too.

Today marks 6 weeks of sobriety for me. I'm feeling great and I've lost some weight too.

It's Independence Day in the US so Happy Independence Day to all in the US!

Hope everyone has a good day

Minus some tense situations with my MIL my weekend went well and was sober. Went canoeing yesterday and may go paddle boarding later today. Have a great day everyone.

Glad to celebrate independence from that poison that masked itself as “fun”

Congrats on 6 weeks Robbie!

Kaily great job on the stump. We had some stumps in the front yard that we pulled out with a truck.

Congrats on 6 weeks Robbie.

PJ I am glad you have a new buddy. Sounds like you are doing a great job.

Leshar I hope your foot feels better soon!

Not feeling very patriotic for what may be obvious reasons. But glad to be independent of alcohol! So far I have played tennis, done yard work, taken a hike, done some cooking, caught up on Stranger Things this long weekend. Now I am going to get some indoor chores done as it is getting really hot out.

My son will go out on his boat fishing by himself, with no life jacket. I didn't wear a life jacket at that age either, but after years of hearing about unnecessary drownings, I now do. As an example, four men just drowned in Idaho when their boat capsized. I wear one of those auto-inflate ones. I'm thinking about buying him one, hoping he'll wear it. They aren't cheap. Things can happen fast if you are dumped in the water, no matter how well you can swim.

RunningScared, I think it’s a good idea. I hope your son will wear the life jacket.

Off to Derby today for hand therapy. Long drive but it’s worth it. The splints they made me and the exercises have helped me much more than my local hospital.

Love to all Weekenders xxxx

I'm glad the medics at Derby are good enough to earn your trust.

Glad your wrist recovery is moving in the right direction, Mags. What a long painful process it has been for you. Lets hope this is a turning point.
