Crossroads

I am thinking about pouring out all of my alcohol down the sink again. That slip up was utterly stupid and devastating. Things were really trending in the right direction and I ruined so many things. Me leaving my Home Depot job was mostly due to the alcoholism. Couldn't make it in time for shifts earlier than 10 AM because I was too hung over and tired. If I had stayed sober I am certain I'd still be there, and I'd be about 25 pounds lighter too. The hard part is the nights. Especially when you have withdrawals and stuff. That is the only thing potentially stopping me from pouring out all of my alcohol right now.

I'm so glad you're talking this way Thrill! I was a wreck when I tried to drink & hold down a job - it was horrible. You can make it out of this miserable time.

Please pour it out. You deserve a better life then a drinking one.

I so understand the fear of withdrawals.

Can you go to a detox for 7 days?

If not, I can't tell you to throw it but a taper?

I'm reading and applying the 10 Day Alcohol Detox Plan available on Amazon.

Maybe it will help and not too expensive 🤔

Most of us have gone through the pouring it out ritual. I've poured it out and then went out to buy more later on. There was one time, however, when I poured it out for good. That was a big step.

I know the feeling. I've lost so many things due to drinking. Pour it out and if withdraw becomes severe seek medical attention. Glad you are here.

Mega depressed. Just making it through a day feels like climbing Mount Everest. I wish therapy wasn't only once a week. I need way more than that.

I know how that feels, are other options open to you therapy wise?

Eventually I'll probably rejoin that Nystrom IOP program, but it will be a few weeks so in the short term just gotta gut it out.

I am doing slightly better than a couple of days ago. I have no idea what I should do for a job though. I've always entertained the idea of being a stand up comic, but I'd probably suck. No where near as bad as Amy Schumer, but still probably couldn't cut it. I wrote some jokes down but will likely not tell them to anyone.

Glad you're feeling somewhat better Thrill, it's a good idea to write down your material, easy to forget and you can always go back and polish them. When you feel up to it maybe try some out here.

I would like to close this account and start a new one. I'm too disliked and I need to start anew. Plus the name sucks. It's a reference to a Simpson's joke, but I didn't even do it right.

Wasn't aware you were disliked Thrill, maybe a fresh start could work.

I don’t think you’re disliked at all TH.
Low self esteem may make you feel that way though.

Post more and you’ll get more responses. Don’t worry about entertaining us. That’s not your job right now.

We can change your name if you like, but a new account I think would be redundant.
Use and add to the support base you have now.
