Hope they’re soon back on track…so to speak, Sauo. How far is it walking, have you timed/measured it in steps? Glad it’s dry for your walk to and fro work.

Scammers certainly are vile.

Sao, I hope the walk to work isn't too bad.

Free, sounds nice to be visiting the Grand Canyon.
Florida was under the ocean at some time in the past also, evident by sharks teeth that can be found near my home at 150 feet above sea level.
It's a terrible shame that the subject of climate change, and other environmental issues, have been so corrupted by politics. I love that bumper sticker, though it would not be appropriate for Florida.

Scammers are getting more sophisticated. Sorry for your troubles Running.

I had a strong craving Saturday evening. I feel that if I had the opportunity, I would've acted on it. After 5 years and 8 months, why does this still happen?

I thanked you in another thread STDragon for sharing. This lets me know I can never let my guard down
Had to get up early to get Mr. Alpine to the airport so now it is Riley, my MIL and me for the week. I will probably head over to my Mom's briefly today to check in on her. She takes so much energy so it is very difficult. Even pre dementia she took a lot of energy.
Mags, I hope you are well rested.

I had a pretty decent birthday, thank you everyone. As I get older, they mean a bit less, but I still appreciate it when people remember. It was my 8th birthday sober. My first sober birthday, 2015, I was on house arrest for a DUI. Yesterday, I enjoyed a full day of clear-headed freedom. How far I have come!

It is ~ 50 minutes each way which is fine in the morning, less so on the way home for some reason. It will do me some good.

The Grand Canyon is definitely on my bucket list.

Climate change is a big deal London. The tidal barrier at Woolwich (below) was raised 4 times between its opening in 1982 and 1990. Since 2012 it has had to be raised 87 times.

Hi Saou, I remember visiting there not long after it opened. In those days you could walk out on the structure and look over the Thames. I don't know if you can do that now. It's a very impressive work of engineering.

Dragon, You didn’t succumb to your cravings. Why they come after all your sober time, I don’t know. Life problems can put us at a low ebb occasionally and the av will try to wedge it’s way in so you listen to it rather than your own mind. I do know you didn’t drink. That will have strengthened your sober muscles. Every victory we get stronger.

Saou, nice photo. I saw them in a film years ago. It’s a long walk each way for your job but nice if you don’t Have to rush.

Marty, a much better birthday was had , pleased it went well.

So glad you’re still with us, Dragon…to echo what Alpine said, thanks for the reminder to not get complacent or lose focus.

MLD, it's very inspiring and touching to think of going from DUI house arrest to 8 years of sobriety.

I don't think its a failure when cravings happen STDragon - its what we do in response that counts.
You didn't drink - that's good recovery

Morning all,

Happy belated birthday, Marty. You and I are the same age bar a week, mine was on the ninth. It came and went uneventfully.

Leshar, sorry to read you are struggling to reachieve long term sobriety. I'm sure you will as you want it enough. Got to grit your teeth and do whatever it takes when those cravings come, go through them and out the other side. Fight them like a warrior .

Dragon, I too still get cravings. They sometimes appear out of nowhere, sometimes a reaction to worries/stress. I think it is something that will always be on my shoulder, waiting to pounce. It is scary when they are strong and it feels like they have the power. All we can do is be ready and prepared. Well done you.

Happy Solstice to you too, Mags.

Alfie enjoying a nice cooling swim.
