Day 45 .. fed up .. but won’t drink ..

I’m fed up with :
1. My health .. I’ve finished the antibiotics prescribed for the diverticulitis but still feel rubbish
2. My work ..I’m single handedly carrying this project but can’t leave as need the $$
3. My friends going on lovely holidays with their smiles and not inviting me ( Ok that one is pathetic on my part I’ll admit).
4. My son who seems ever on the verge of trouble with the law … ( even when he isn’t)

But as Least says, I need to be grateful so here goes :
1. I have good health care
2. My son is not in trouble with the law (currently/yet).
3. I have good friends ( but I don’t see them enough) I have an interesting job
4. Im hopefully playing tennis on Friday which I love
5. I love my balcony garden where my peach tree is actually producing peaches
6. I can vent on SR ( Thank you for that !)
Onwards !

6 pros 4 cons

The pros win!

There is not one thing on the con list that drinking won't make worse.

It has taken me over 2 years but I am slowly letting the world do its thing and just not let it drive me crazy.
Still a work in progress so I know how hard it can be to stay positive especially in the beginning.

But with sober time behind you youll notice how things have improved since you quit drinking. That makes it easier to stay positive.
And sober

I have had a couple of bouts of diverticulitis that required antibiotics, and it took up to six or eight weeks before I felt 'right' in health and strength.
Eat carefully and well, take gentle care.

I'm glad you're not going to drink Ican.

Seriously, it will make everything worse, and the peaches would lose their blush.

Everything would lose its blush.

It won't remain like this Ican.

I am so grateful that I no longer drink. The alternative appals me.

Peach soup.

You're right Caramel. I just looked up peach soup and it looks delicious. Got yoghurt in.

I dont know Ican, just don't want you to drink because I know you'll be so bitterly disappointed in yourself.

But you've already said you're "not", so what am I doing talking about peach soup to a chef?

All of the crumby things that are happening will pass Ican, and you'll still be sober, and you'll be so pleased with your progress.

They say in AA "we seek progress, not perfection." I don't go to AA, but still, I like a lot of its stuff.
