Forgiving Ourselves this Weekend - Weekenders 20 - 23 May 2022
Morning Weekenders, I have been avoiding unnecessary Tube (London Underground) trips since the pandemic but made an exception yesterday evening to ride London's new line. The trains are wider, quieter air conditioned and faster than the rest. Bittersweet for me as I sold a lot of equipment to its various constructors which has ceased now.
This is not the best photo I have ever taken but you can get an idea of it.

That is a very nice looking train.
Yes, Ohio is on eastern time and California is western time. Three hours different. I have a customer who lives in Seattle and I called him at 5 AM western once by mistake, LOL. Hung over at the time I'm sure, which is not funny.
Reid, my dad took me, a buddy, and his dad on a weekend trip to the Daytona 500 in his motorhome when I was a senior. It was a lot of fun and very memorable. I've thought a lot about taking my kid, but know that it would be very crowded, expensive, waiting in line, lots of drinking, etc, and just don't have the energy for it. We've done plenty of other things.
I hope you get your bag back soon.
My kid's prom was last weekend. One of his buddies that goes to a different school had his last weekend as well, and evidently it was a covid superconductor as a lot of the people in the class tested positive soon after. Graduation plans are being changed as a result.
Also, a group of fellow seniors in my kid's school had a massive food fight in cafeteria on the last day of school for seniors. It sounds like it would have made John Belushi proud. There are disciplinary actions being taken. My kid was not in the cafeteria at the time. It seems like a minor thing though compared to other events that are unfolding.

I saw the new line on the news earlier. You might’ve been in the train at the time. Air conditioning…fantastic.
Are there transparent door/partitions between the station and the rail? It looked great. Glad you could help with equipment on making it.

That is shocking news from Uvalde.
A food fight sounds great fun but I guess the school was less amused at the clean up cost.
Yes, it was the Elizabeth line (I still call it Crossrail) and I was on it at the time, they are the walk-through type carriages. You're right Mags, there is a partition between the trains and platform which makes them safer. I did take a photo (you can even see my reflection if you look hard) but didn't post it yesterday as it's not very clear.
