Goodnight calmself, I love that terminology, that just how I felt when I drank alcohol.

Welcome to Weekenders Britbird80!

You're doing great PJ.

Get well soon Mags.

I have had some mildly alarming creaking noises in my flat recently but only found out what it was last night - new soffit on the flats on the other side of our 3 floor building - our flat roof hasn't had them done for a decade and a half - our side gets done next week. They have solar panels on them which makes the roof 'settle' for a few days. Glad my flat is not about to fall down.

Sao, "I have learned enough about them and some of the underlying issues that facilitated some of my actions to at least stop beating myself up about them". Very nicely articulated.

Love the pathway pictures. Looks like a good place to spot Bilbo, Thorin and the others, some woodland elves, and a few fell creatures.

SoberLeigh, good to see you. "The only way out is through". Yes indeed.

Need a sober one that is for sure. I have not been doing well lately with lots going on, lots of frustrations, etc. need to hit the reset button. Sigh..

Hi Weekenders,
Hope you're ok Alpine. Have you moved now?
Saou, I love the photos. Can you walk over that bridge?
It's a long weekend here. It's a relief not to have to be mindful of when the liquor store is open, nor deal with crowds there.

You can do this Alpine. I know only too well how tough it is to begin with but it does get easier, a lot easier after a couple of months.

Eek! I have a discomfort of walking over high bridges. I think there's a phobia name for it. Especially if it's over water. I'll do it, but it gives me the heebie jeebies.

Alpine, I agree with Saou, you can do this!

Enjouy your long weekend Dragon and Leshar and anyone else with days off.

It would be with trepidation if I walked over that bridge too!

That's good news Aly. Once people who are a teensy bit older overcome their reluctance and do things online they appreciate the benefits more than most I think.

Glad you're getting better Mags

That bridge was not very high fortunately.

Good Morning Weekenders

Woke up with a horrible headache. I think it’s the effects of yesterday’s sneezing with the high pollen. I know one thing for sure, it isn’t through booze. Hallelujah!

I still can’t believe I used to wake up in a morning with these headaches from alcohol and straight away be thinking and planning when my next drink would be.
Looking back that was addiction to alcohol. I would never have said it out loud and if the thought popped up in my head I pushed it immediately out again.

Getting free is the hardest and the best thing I did for myself. If you’re reading this hung over wishing there was a way out…there is. I did it with SR, reading, learning and posting, and a desire to not drink.

Changing my mindset from I can’t drink to I don’t drink helped me make decisions easier.

You can do this.

Love to all Weekenders xxxx
