Congrats Reid, I'm going through some difficulties with my elderly parents. I'm determined to stay sober through this. Its good to hear you got through your difficulties sober.

Hi Scott, I and I’m sure many of us here feel for you. I came within a whisker of relapsing when my mum had an emergency. I somehow stayed sober through that period and still am three years on. Things are easier to cope with when sober, and with aging parents, there’s a lot to deal with. Look after yourself too, and that means don’t drink. This mightn’t be the most helpful comment, but now my parents have gone, I am able to carry on with my sober life. If I’d relapsed during that mini emergency, that wouldn’t have helped my parents, and I’d probably still be drinking now. Set some boundaries with aging parents. Get away once in a while even if just for a few hours. Good luck and keep posting (about your ongoing sobriety mainly but anything else is great too) :)

Congrats friend, job well done! That is quite the accomplishment, considering what you've been through. Ugh, all of it.

Condolences to you, losing our moms is the hardest of all. But you're handling it.

Best to you, Reid82.

Sorry to read about your mother. It is a massive loss to deal with.
It is also one that deserves presence and not avoiding the pain. You must be very proud of going through all this and a full 3 years! without drinking. Congratulations.
