Popping in to say hello
Hi everyone
I thought l would pop in and say hello, it's been a while and l don't recognise too many names and you probably won't recognise mine.
I just celebrated 4 years of sobriety three days ago and things are going great with not too many bumps in the road. I wanted to send my best wishes to everyone trying or struggling to get sober, keep at it, you can do it and once you reach the other side life is much easier to deal with.
The saddest event of the past 12 months was finding out that my best friend of over a decade (we hadn't spoken in a few years because l encouraged her to cut back on her drinking and she pushed me away) passed away. She never did manage to stop and leaves behind two beautiful kids. Very sad indeed. On the bright side it only cemented my commitment to sobriety even more. I hate the ability alcohol has to devastate lives ☹

I'm sorry about your friend. I know if I'd kept going I would have suffered the same fate. I'm thankful we don't live that way anymore.

Yes, Helianthus, I remember you…… I congratulated you back in August 2018 on your 90 days back then.
Unlike you, I didn’t do the work, and chose to drink in 2019. Big mistake.
