Day 3 is difficult as the alcohol is still leaivng our bodies. We DO feel depressed on day 3 and we WILL get through it!!!!!!

Day 3 was always the hardest for me Lila. Once I got over that things started to slowly improve. I'm hoping it goes the same for you.

In the meantime take it easy on yourself. You need time to get through this. Don't expect or ask too much from yourself and know that this stage will pass. I found eating regularly, staying hydrated, some easy activity/exercise through the day and reading and posting here really helped.

Just want to ditto what everyone else has said.

Some ideas that I did the first two weeks:

Ice cream, old movies, rereading a book that I loved, lots of hot showers and baths, clean sheets, picking up trash and cleaning, journaling, plenty of tears and pillow-punching, brisk walks in Nature seeing changes— right now Spring to Summer so healing and green—

Hold the line and get through this acute phase. It truly will get better ❤️‍🩹

You already know too well the Hell you return to if you use again, so give yourself the opportunity to get to the glorious and peaceful country of Sobriety.
