I joined class of april, still sober and currently working so not drinking which is good. Just got over covid and feel horrendous. It lasted about a month. I gained 15 lbs since I just sat around all day in the end.
Anyways, I'm depressed, fat, and uncomfortable and just trying not to give into the AV after my shift is over.

Had a burst of energy today so have so far carpet cleaned half the living room as carpet had muddy footprints on it and looked horrid. Got all my washing out on the line and cleaned the kitchen. I’ve got this thing for Hollands Steak and Kidney puddings at the moment (Uk people might know what these are) so just about to steam one…so yummy!

MantaLady, I'm in awe of all you're able to accomplish in the face of your ongoing treatment! We used to get steak and kidney pie for school dinners. Not my favourite!

In these threads, I keep focusing on my dear Penguins, which saoutchik, you are responsible for. I keep thinking about penguins when looking at your profile pic.
They've lost one of two away games, but they crushed NY at home last night. Tomorrow night, there'll be another game at PPG. Which, of course, the Pens will win.
It's the first round of 7 (so, first to 4 wins)

Aw I just saw Dennis Waterman passed away. I loved him in the Sweeney with John Thaw in the 70’s. He was a likeable actor in the U.K. he will be missed. R.I.P Mr. Waterman. 🙏
Hope Monday finds us all with a sober weekend behind us. I’ve found they are the best sort whatever life throws at us.

I felt a bit low yesterday too. For no apparent reason also. I wondered if it was because sports results didn't go well for my team, but that seemed so superficial. It was a sunny day, I knew lots of people were in the pub drinking, and I just felt a bit empty. My usual interests didn't seem very appealing.I just kind of sat around and watched the football, which normally I am happy to do, but it felt a bit meh. It's not like I wanted to drink, but I guess drinking was such a big part of my Sunday's, I am noticing that there is a hole in my day sometimes. Not that it appeals to me anymore, going into a drunken stupor, but I guess this is my life now. The alternative is horrible so I'm good with it. It will pass. I feel good today.
