You may have to go out of network and pay out of pocket, but the tests can get expensive. Perhaps you can bring your previous test results. I think a GI specialist def would be indicated.

So sorry to hear you are in such pain, John.

I called my health insurance company and give me a list of other hospitals that are in network. I called the VA for an appointment. They will get back to me. I also have another appointment with the specialist I saw last week. Someone has to figure out what's going on. I really take this much longer. John

Called the VA suicide hotline. We talked a long time. She connected me to a VA nurse. She is going to contact my doctor to get some sleeping medication. A good night's sleep would help a lot.
More then my regular doctor would do. John

there's been some progress. Th VA called yesterday and set up some appointments. I'm getting some blood work done today, and I have a dr's appointment set for next Wed. They are also arranging an appointment with a psychiatrist to maybe change my meds for anxiety, depression and sleep. I want so bad to get my life back. This is no way to live. Thanks for caring!!!!!! It makes a big difference. John

That’s good news and real progress John! I like the fact they are working to get some answers and treatment on multiple levels—it all works together, or doesn’t work together, doesn’t it? Thank you for update and hopefully you will get the results you need for real relief soon

It's good to hear you may have some help and advice coming you way.
Anxiety over health can be a dreadful thing as it can make things seem so much worse . It is easy said that sone, but do try and find a way to relax, walking, listening to music, talking on line, reading, whatever helps you to feel calm.
It's a very positive thing that you can post here and read how caring other people are about you.

Spent the last 10 days in the hospital. Went in to get more blood work done. To shaky and weak to get there from hospital garage so ended up in the ER where they admitted me. Did tons of tests, got more needles stuck in me to remember. Pain was unreal. Lost almost 40 pounds. Throwing up. Test results show that I have pancreatic cancer. Will start chemo probably next week. Tumor right now is large and has attached itself to a bunch of nerves, so can't operate now. Once it shrinks with chemo, they said that they will do the surgery to remove the tumor. If successful, I will be cancer free. Just happy to be home for now. Very weak, so plan on just staying home and sleeping a lot. John

Oh my gosh John!

I am very glad you are home after what sounds like a really tough and frightening 10 days.

Sending you a hug

It is good to know that there is a proactive plan in place to get rid of the tumor and get you back to health—are they getting you some extra help / support at home as you recover? Getting healthy food prepped, keeping your place tidy, shopping, etc?
