Checking in

My husband’s workup for possible kidney cancer is this afternoon.
My formal job interview is tomorrow morning.
My hand is still sore but healing after the surgery.

Still sober!

Wishing you the very best on all counts Peke.

If it's of any comfort my sister was diagnosed with kidney cancer about 12 months ago and had a kidney removed. I know every case is different, but she is doing really well.

Drinking is the only thing that will "wash us up" Peke. As they say, it's the "great leveller", and would take Albert Einstein out, no holds barred. Congrats on remaining sober. Only way to go.

Good luck Peke. Best wishes Mr Peke.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful replies and encouragement. I truly cannot believe that I have been sober these past few weeks, especially with all that’s been going on. I credit this site and it’s members for making me feel like I’m not alone in this journey. Thank you all again.

Deep breath, big smile!

You're never alone - you have us. We may be only virtual but we're real sitting in our chairs at our computers.

YES! This is the truest of the true. Made me laugh!

You are not alone. When that feeling comes in just remember all the people on this forum who are here for you and cheering you on. Community has been an essential part of my recovery. Without this community I am not sure where I would be? My gratitude runs real deep for this wonderful place.

Good Luck on the interview. I wish for your husband to have a clean bill of health. You are doing this and we are so happy to watch the progress. Keep moving forward.

Peke, I wish you and your husband the best as he goes through test this afternoon. And, I know you will do well on your job interview.

You are going through a lot right now, with many stressful situations in your life. When I was in early recovery, a stalker (a stranger) was following and threatening my 19 yr old daughter for months. It was a traumatic situation for me and my family, but I remember thinking, if I can get through this and remain sober, I can get through anything. As you go through these stressful times, you will gain the confidence to get through anything in the future.
