Good evening Weekenders, 4 days off. In the old days I would be about 10 minutes away from a solid 96 hours of drinking and hangovers.

In for another Weekender thread!
(copied and pasted, thanks, Sao!)

I don't get any time off work for Easter. A lot of people do take Good Friday as a vacation day, so it should be somewhat quiet tomorrow.

Weekends used to be such a balancing act for me. Early on in the heavy drinking days, I could manage fairly well to get the weekend chores mostly done and THEN start the drinking on Saturday afternoon. Sometimes I'd manage to NOT drink on Sundays, but usually, the drinking continued, and then I'd start the work week wickedly hungover and questioning my entire existence.

Later on, drinking started in earnest on Friday after work and the whole weekend was a blur. And I drank a fair amount most weekdays, as well. The consequences really started to pile up in that last maybe 3-4 years of my drinking career. And to think it all started with some basic weekend socializing.

I'm extremely happy to have ALL of my days back, but especially the weekends. Sober weekends are such a gift.

Yes, Suze. To those celebrating the first seder meal tomorrow, I hope it's a special time.

My sister will be doing a family Seder this year. It is actually the only time of the year I feel really homesick.

It's also the end of Lent on Sunday. For Lent this year I gave up innuendo. It's really hard, I hope I pull it off.

Me too, Saoutchik.

I had a wine craving about 2 hours ago. Amazing how the AV came tapping on my shoulder to remind me of how “good” those days were. I quickly told it that I liked waking up with a clear head way, way better.

A tough weekend for me for sure. But I will not drink.

Good morning Weekenders

It's a lovely day outside, perfect weather for Good Friday. Today I'm heading out for lunch with the family, we're going for a fish and chips meal. Afterwards I'll be going for a long walk. Hopefully the weather will stay lovely all day.

Take care everyone.

I am staying sober. Being sick is helping LOL. Found out I have covid over 2 weeks ago. I am now testing negative BUT I am still so sick. Coughing, so congested I can't breathe, vomiting added last night.
I have talked to my doctor, she prescribed me something but unfortunately it sounds like i just have to wait this out .
hope everyone has a good Easter weekend!
