Friday night

Friday night can often mean trouble for me.
I can’t hear you AV. I have too much going for me. I don’t want to destroy it.

Yeah Peke, write down what you want to do this weekend. Start with your plan this evening or early in the morning. So much of what you do is incompatible with drinking. Plan an active, healthy peaceful weekend Peke!!!

Good for you Peke....I used to struggle with Friday nights too....do you have some stuff planned to keep yourself busy? Movies, snacks, or a hobby.... maybe have some "me time" and pamper yourself! Stay close!

Settling down at about 9 pm after the children are in bed to watch a couple of episodes of something brilliant on Netflix or BBC with a glass of my hot ginger toddy, the promise of some buttery toast, knowing I no longer need to drink until I pass out is a good friday night. It's just a night and tomorrow will be here soon enough, and you will be clear headed.

It's good that you're being vigilant, Peke. Habits can change and you can form new healthy habits for Friday nights.

Peke - When I first got sober I felt strange every weekend for a while. Kind of lost in the beginning. Not sure why - it had been a long time since I had actually enjoyed myself drinking. I began to love the new weekend feeling - no regret or remorse. I'm glad you posted - you're doing great.
