Day 40 - God is Good!
By the grace of God and with the help of AA and my friends here on SR, I have forty clean days today! Counting some blessings:
1.) After working hard to get my house fixed/cleaned up to put on the market, I am delighted to report that it sold in less than 1 week!
2.) My husband (who works very hard at his job and earned his Master’s degree last year) got a much appreciated and unexpected raise! It doesn’t replace the loss of my income, but it eases some financial stress.
3.) I’ve recently been unable to drive due to a seizure disorder. I’ve been faithfully taking my anticonvulsant medication, and I will reach 6 months seizure-free this week. That means I can (soberly) drive myself to AA! 🎉
4.) I went out in PUBLIC in my tiny, gossip-filled town for the first time since my drug addiction was made known. I’m still wrestling with shame, but my kids were playing soccer so I wanted to be there to cheer. Both my little guys scored a goal, and not a single person threw rocks at me!!! 😜
Thanks for celebrating with me!
Life is easier clean. I need to work hard to keep it that way!

Toughchoices, 40 days of sobriety is great. I'm glad your house sold quickly and that your financial worries have lessened a bit. This is all impetus for you to continue forward with your recovery.
