Day 37 - energy bill hikes as it gets colder !

I’ve been in a bad mood for days …. not helped by massive increase in energy bills here in the UK as well as water, council tax etc .. it will cost me £1000s more per year and I think I may have to cancel my summer holiday in Alaska which I was looking forward to.. And it’s started snowing and will be below freezing tonight so the heating has to go on ! At least I can just about afford it but those on low incomes will be truly in a mess. It said on the news people were refusing potatoes and carrots from food banks as they couldn’t afford the energy to boil them ! :-( I will refrain from comments about our #£*& Government. Anyway, this would have driven me to drink on a Friday night but instead it has driven me to dark chocolate !

Good on ya for going for the chocolate. No sense in spending money you don't have on alcohol; besides which, drinking won't lower the energy bills.

Dark chocolate can solve quite a few probllems. Ican, we are facing rising prices here in Canada, too, on a lot of things. I hope you can work out a way to go to Alaska.

I have often allowed external factors to affect my mood and justify drinking, something others here have pointed out to me.

Of course it doesn't help anybody or anything. I think dark chocolate is a far better solution. Or spicy Indian food.

Keep up the good work, Ican!

I just cooked curry Ican. Not from scratch, but still good.

Harness the sun, I say. No bills for life! . ☀️

You are doing great Ican, and me, happy to report same.

I don't know if I'm 'letting go with love.' Trying to let go with grace.

Afterthought: I've always wanted to go to Alaska, too.

Watched a documentary on the Antarctic yesterday. Brrrrrrr!

See if you can work out a budget or something so you can still go to Alaska. That's definitely a trip I want to take.

Yup our energy costs went up this past winter but you guys are getting hit hard by things going on east of you. Your gas prices were always higher and not they will get worse. Sucks for sure. Just keep doing what you're doing and don't waste money in alcohol.

All kinds - Halibut, Cod, Trout, char.. but especially Salmon! Four different kinds, and I have seen them jumping in the Kenai river in June..

I love Halibut and went Halibut fishing in Alaska a few years ago. Can't wait to go back.

Alcohol is expensive! Good for you for avoiding it. Please stay safe and warm.
