Feeling like a Spring cleanse? ~ Weekenders 25-28 March 2022
Good morning Weekenders
It's another beautiful day outside. I'm about to go and do some gardening then do some shopping. This afternoon I plan to go for a long walk then later will be watching the football with England playing.
I hope everyone has a good day.

happy Saturday morning folks !
I had another successful week. Friday's at work are long and a complete butt kicker, but I just have to remind myself to keep focused and I can enjoy the weekends. They have certain areas of selecting at work, and I was in the candy room which is basically like working in a fridge temp environment. I just put on a hoodie and once I started moving I was fine. It's nice to know I can work in different areas and be comfortable doing so.
I filed my taxes about a week ago so that's done. Nothing on the agenda this weekend. Basketball, laundry, and grocery store.

Thanks for all the kind words. I have a car-full (seriously) of old photos which I will go through at some point.
The roads where I live seem nearly empty of private cars today. £1.73 per litre of petrol (gas) will have that effect.
Edit - that's north of US 9 dollars per gallon.

Have a great day all. Feel like getting out for a little shopping today or tomorrow. I was listening to a thing with Jane Seymour about a fling she had with Joe Lando, her co star on Dr. Quinn. I went to grade school and h.s. with Joe Lando and we were pretty close. She was describing the huge fight they had during that time and how difficult it was to work with someone you were mad at. Supposedly now they are good friends. He was so handsome in school, even at a young age. We always got along well and were pretty good friends. All the girls loved him! I never acted like it at all, which is likely why we got along so well.
Happy Saturday all!

Good Morning Weekenders
I remember 30 years ago or so I was going to a hypnotherapist for help. I recall telling her that I thought I drank too much. She asked if I drank spirits, which I didn’t (not all the time) and she said it didn’t seem like I had a problem.
Perhaps I didn’t want her to tell me I drank too much, I knew I did.
But what I’m getting at is I chose to ignore my drinking until I was in the grips of addiction and then I couldn’t or didn’t think it was possible to stop. I didn’t realise what a hold it would have on me and that it would be the most important thing in my life, that I would eat, sleep, work alcohol.
So if you’re waking up, hung over and thinking why? Thinking that you’d like to stop drinking but don’t know how. Do something about it. Today even.
I ‘swept it under the carpet’ and it took me a good few years to be sober.
Love to all the Weekenders xxxx

Good morning Weekenders!
The clocks went forward by an hour overnight and my body is telling me I should still be in bed. I feel quite shattered this morning.
Another lovely day outside. I'm going to my mother's for Sunday lunch and will then be going for a walk afterwards. It's Mother's Day here in the UK so I've got a card and some presents for her. I think there may only be the UK and Ireland remaining who have Mother's Day set to its traditional date of the third Sunday in Lent (i.e. three weeks before Easter Sunday). Everywhere else seems to have the date set as the second Sunday in May.
It's a sober Sunday, the best type of Sunday to have. I hope everyone has a good day.

Happy Mothering Sunday to our UK and Irish mums!
Apparently, the woman who started the Mothers' day idea was terribly upset that it took off with florists and card makers and became such a commercial enterprise. She died poor and in obscurity. I heard this on our CBC radio, a program about inventors who regretted the later use of their ideas.
Anyway, happy family time to those who are having gatherings today.
