Today was a “meh” day. I tried to smile a lot. I also tried to remind myself of the things that I have to be grateful for. I tried to laugh. I got down on the ground and hugged my dogs. I hugged my husband.

It!s going to take a while for my binge drinking to get out of my system. The first few weeks when I quit are always sort of meh. Then I start feeling better. It takes time though.

The only thing that I know is that if I were to drink now, that tomorrow I would feel awful.
So it’s better to feel “meh” now than to feel even *worse* tomorrow.

It is okay to have meh days. They happen. They also pass. Nobody promised me that sobriety would always be rainbows and puppy dog tails, but I know in my heart that drinking never was.
