I tried so hard
Hi Mummy2 - It’s in the past now.
I don’t mean this in a harsh way at all, but first thing you need to think about today is what you ll do different this time. Something has to change for you to break the cycle, it’s 100% possible, many of us did it, you got this.

It's so hard to stop when you're deep in it- but the little victories are to be celebrated and seen as true steps forward- you can do this, Mummy- one day or hour or minute at a time- we are all here pulling for you.

You can do this, Mummy. I am almost 4 years sober but it took many relapses to finally drive home the fact that it was so not worth it. Even though I had some very uncomfortable moments in my early days the relapses were far worse. The difference between you and I was the fact that you have the courage to post after your relapse and get the support you deserve. I never posted, just sat on the sidelines feeling miserable.
Writing as you think is really helpful because you can go back and review later—it gives you data and a kind of accountability if you are honest and thorough about what happened and the steps you need to take to make it difficult to relapse in the same way again. I found I was repeating the same behaviors, patterns, and justifications over and over with only slight variations. It’s a great way to shut the door on those slippery reasons we find to drink.
