I've been sober for 7 days now. Yesterday I had to go for a medical appointment. On my way home I drove by the store I used to buy booze at and I wouldn't let myself look at it. You've come a long way if you can pick it up and put it back down again without buying it! Congratulations!

Canada, ahead of us in so many ways. We have another fortnight to go.

I used to love watching Monty Python with my sister as a kid. The icing on the cake was the fact that my dad (RIP dad) hated it with a passion. At some point in the show he would ALWAYS come out with the line "that's not funny at all, they're just being stupid" which of course made it seem even funnier.

Hi oldie for the first few months I was sober I had to go different ways to avoid passing shops for booze. Good work avoiding it!

I went to the market today and there was a sign up I’d not seen before. ‘High street rules. Booze is Banned’.

Hi Mags! That's interesting. I'd like to go to a concert in May, but last time I was at the venue, it was unpleasant having to regularly get up to allow ppl past to get more beer. That and the smell of pot which makes me nauseous. I wish alcohol would not be allowed at live concerts but I suppose ppl would be up in arms.

There's been a lot of stuff about Molotov Cocktails in the news so I decided to make one following an online recipe.

It tasted awful.

Thanks Mags. "Oh what a tangled web we weave / When first we practice to deceive...". Anything to protect our drinking as I remember.

Anyway, the house hunting is looking positive but I'm not going to jinx it by declaring success quite yet. Hadn't fully grasped the upfront cash flow though... gulp... Perhaps I've found a use for all that saved up beer money.

Onwards! Forwards.

evening from Georgia.

got through a challenging but really successful week at my new position. I had some obstacles and still do, but I was able to adapt and make some changes which allowed me to do my job better. I completely changed career paths and I'm now a warehouse selector for a distribution center. It's fast paced and there are a lot of different things happening at the same time.

they are training new people because summer is around the corner and the center is slammed.

I am still working a great recovery program. Still meeting with a sponsor and going to continuing care to check in. I just passed 4 months with no alcohol and feeling great.

I drank alone most of the time so didn't have to worry about lying to anyone... but me...

So glad I don't waste my life that way anymore.

I had a 7day migraine...yesterday was horrible. The worst in years.
Meds for mig. kicked in eventually, so a better day today.

PJ take care. I hope the migraine doesn’t come back.

Least glad you’re home from hospital after your op. Take care.

Morning all, Happy National Baked Scallops Day to all Weekenders living in the US.

I slept in until past 7am this morning which doesn't happen very often (i'm not complaining) Nice to remind myself how good it is to wake up on a Saturday morning hangover free. If I had carried on drinking, I suspect I wouldn't be waking up ever again by now. Lol! That's a cheery thought.

Sending positive vibes your way PhoenixJ!

Well done AthensDawg. In a way your career change underlines the change made when you stopped drinking which must be a good thing.

It is a fine day outside so far.
