Harder than I thought
12 days today, but the last 5 have been the hardest emotionally. Somehow I figured getting the chemicals out of my head would be rough, but then I’d be in an easier spot.
Turns out that adrenaline was probably fueling me through those initial days, and now I’m really feeling the enormity of my choices.
My sleep cycle is screwy, my back has been hurting terribly, and I’ve been waking up with horrible anxiety. But, somehow I woke up this morning without a lot of pain, saw the sunshine, and heard my kids laughing (then fighting, but I’ll take it). And it was just a total gift from God - who knows I can only handle so much. On top of all that goodness, my ex-employer texted out of the blue to tell me he was praying for me and check-in on my progress! I had abandoned hope of such kindness!!!
Writing this down to log my gratitude for RELIEF.
It’s getting better, friends!

my sleep cycle was all over the place at first but it does get better over time.
I was waking up at 4 am while in treatment and not able to go back to sleep, that sucked. I did however turn a corner and slept until 6:30 some mornings.

Good to hear you're feeling a bit better today ToughChoices! I hardly slept at all the first three days and then it got slowly better. This is quite common and I hope it improves quickly for you. Gratitude really helped me too. I made an entry in my gratitude list daily for a while so I wouldn't forget about it. All the best

Yeah, it's hard at first but after the first week or so, it'll slowly start getting better. Sometimes you won't notice the changes as they are happening but after a while, you'll notice a difference. It's hard but it's completely worth it.
