Well as many of you have pointed out (kindly), what I have been doing (coming on here, using will power etc) hasn’t been working and maybe I have to add something new ! Well,I have ! I am also part (not so active as in SR) of a British women’s online group for those with alcohol issues and have found them very helpful esp when they used to have face to face meet ups with the very dynamic founder who has herself overcome huge alcohol problems. Well, I signed up for face to face counselling with her on Zoom and just has the first session and it was wonderful ! We have made a plan for five more to discuss acceptance, self compassion, not acting on thoughts etc. I know about this stuff of course but it makes such a difference to discuss with someone trained and who has personally experienced hellish depths of addiction and come out the other side ! So I’m feeling very positive and feel I’ve taken a major concrete step towards a better life ! Yay !
