So I drank every night for the last week. I’m really nervous about tomorrow’s hearing with the Judge about the Non-Molestation Order against my son … no reason to drink I know. The result being that I feel dreadful and am even more nervous ! :-(

Good luck with the hearing tomorrow ICDT. That must be immensely stressful. Day 1 today? It is good you realize that drinking makes all of it worse, not better.

You can do it, Ican, the key is not allowing your AV to drive your behavior. Just say no. We alkies struggle with our emotions, and the AV takes advantage.

Hi Ican - sorry to hear that and glad you are back.

I understand the issue with your son makes things difficult, but life will keep happening in the future, some good things, some bad things.

Once you are done with court hearing tomorrow hopefully you will feel more relaxed, that will be the time to design a plan.

Remember, it has to be something different than everything you did before, same methods generate same results.

You can do this!

Icandothis - I'm so sorry for your misery. That's the lesson I had to learn too - drinking never helped me cope. It weakened me & made me more anxious. You know that now.
