Watched this again, as its such an eye opener for me
I remember watching it a couple of years or so after it was first broadcast, when it was repeated on the BBC. It's shocking, very sad and an eye opener. But unfortunately it still didn't stop me drinking for more than just a few days. Looking at the first date of broadcast (21 November 2006), I was in a day rehab group at the time. I can't remember anyone in the group mentioning seeing the programme but had I seen it back then it might have got the message through to me a little bit better.

I can't find it now but there was a follow up article on the BBC website which was written a year or two later, possibly around the time the programme was repeated. Toni and Nigel died during filming, Vanda has also since died and I can't find anything about Mark.
While doing a Google search I found a thesis which was written by Karen Deborah Thornton who was an undergraduate at the University Of Bradford which discusses the programme at great length in her paper "Discourses of Power and Representation in British Broadcasting Corporation Documentary Practices: 1999-2013". She is largely critical of the filmmaker Paul Watson. The thesis can be downloaded from https://bradscholars.brad.ac.uk/handle/10454/18364 and the in-depth analysis of the programme is at pages 262 - 306.
