Made it thru year one. Thank you, SR!
So, 01/01 made a full year. I made it thru Hurricane Ida and we are still living in a 31’ camper trailer, parked in my front yard… waiting on the house repairs to continue. Prolly be like that till April.
There was a time in Sept when everything was still shut down- work, stores, amenities, no electricity, no internet, hell, no cell phone coverage for a couple weeks, that I almost stopped for a bottle. I somehow didn’t and used the disaster to occupy my time.
We collected and moved about 25 wheel barrels of shingles to the road. That’s how the water came into the house, thru the roof and then thru the ceiling drywall driven by 125 MPH Winds. We had 1/8 to 1/4 inch of water on deck in every room. We cleaned brush and debris for two weeks, kept the generator running for 14 days to keep the food cold. But we did it and we did it sober.
thank you at Sober Recovery for the inspiration and constant reminders

Awesome, well done!! Sorry to hear about your home. A few years ago someone broke into our house (we were out) robbed it and set it on fire before they left in one of our cars that was in the driveway. So I hear you on the pain involved when your home becomes uninhabitable. You'll be back in in no time and as you said, sober!!
