Sober 2022
Sort of grey and damp here in the UK. Bleak I think is the word, But sober as a judge and intending to stay that way. Great to see people checking in. I hope anybody ready who feels uncertain joins the thread and keeps us all company,

I am in! I will try to post as many days as I can in the format (starting Jan 1):
x days sober + y days non sober
Hopefully y is 0 on Dec 31.
In 2021, so far it is approx :
265 days sober + 100 days non sober.
This is a good idea because folks who relapsed don't need to run and hide in fear. Great!! Let's do it

Good for you Chancellor. If tracking days helps, by all means do it. It really helped me early on. It was fun and motivating.
Let our collective most fervent prayer be that all of our days in 2022 are sober ones. It feels a bit awkward to plan for reporting sober and non-sober days. But the fact is some of us will stay sober and some of us won't. So, let's all track both kinds of days and keep each other honest.

I still want to be able to just drink a little
Sometimes you have to be real and say - I am just terrible at drinking 'just a little bit'.
Drinking not at all set me free, Chancellor.

Ha - I'm also a bassist and wish I could play like Jaco too!!!
I feel you may be right about drinking just a little bit - I know last year when I quit for over 3 months it was easier when it was just completely not an option - once I allowed it to may be be an option the inner battles began. Not that those 3 months weren't hard, taking it out of the equation seemed to make it a bit easier is all I'm trying to say.

Man I wasted 20 years on that. I wanted to be able to drink just a little too. I also wanted to play bass like Jaco Pastorius but neither of those things were in me.

This may sound a bit ambitious, but, well
Here's the deal: (Try to) stay sober for the entire next year (2022)
& Check in daily / weekly / whatever you choose. We don't judge here. Even if you lapsed. Though I prefer you wouldn't, it is indeed the start of a new beginning.
Also, some fun facts about 2022: It's the first triple digit year since 2000, followed by 1999, but before that, it was 1011.... ok maybe not so fun facts.
I'll just call it group S222, anyone in?
