Nearing 1 Year
Proud to say that's it's been well over 11 months since I made the decision to quit drinking. 1 Year and my 30th birthday are pretty close together, and I'm quite happy to say that I'll be spending it sober.
It's been a very quiet but productive year. I started off 2021 broke, miserable, and for a little while I honestly thought I might be dying. I felt horrible. Going into 2022 I'm not broke, hopeful about the future, and things are certainly going in a much better direction.
I still have lingering health issues that concern me. Blood work back in February confirmed that I had hepatitis, and I still have some mild discomfort at times coming from my liver. Some weeks are good and I barely notice, other times it seems to flare up and I feel kinda wonky all week. I'm overdue for a follow up appointment with my doctor. I've been putting it off due to being busy and also being worried that there isnt anything I can do to improve this and just having to deal with it.
Anyways, it's been a real net positive year, hopefully many more to come.

That’s a wonderful post, P51. Really well done!
Sorry to hear about the hepatitis, but I think you already know that alcohol and it’s effect on the liver would be unwise with hepatitis, so it’s another important reason to stay quit. I hope that can be managed well. Well done for a great year otherwise.

That's really great to hear. Sorry you still have lingering health concerns. You are young, so if you maintain sobriety and if you live and eat well, your health should improve and your future what ever you decide to make of it! Well done!
Every reason to be proud Mustang. A truly important milestone, and can remember the pride I felt in myself. Sorta like I'd made it. Onwards, now.
It's been two years for me now, and am content to have the years roll by as they will, sober.
Whatever I make of those years is up to me. I've got a few things up my sleeve.
Congratulations Mustang.
