Bro and I were going to go out for dinner tonight but will have to put it off as he's going to the Christmas Eve service at his church. I'm not disappointed tho, as I don't feel too wonderful today. Lightheaded and just 'not normal'. I'll eat supper at home, thanks to a Christmas elf ordering my dinner from Wendy's to be delivered here. That will be fun. Dinner out without having to go out.

I do so wish I could take Billie for a walk. sigh... To make up for it, I took my cane and walked to the end of the driveway and back. At least I got outside for a bit.

Kaily, which one is Daisy? I'm guessing the one with the pink harness.

You should do that every day love....just going up and down the driveway and getting fresh air can do wonders I think.

I went out delivering my Christmas Chocolates at 7ish this morning in the dark....no one out yet....it was so much fun and I feel great today. Just that little walk and some fresh air.

EDIT: This is for Willow....I went out this morning in a singlet top, lite hoodie and tracks (and slipper boots lol) in 7C, and was not even vaguely cold....do I hear one of these....

It's Christmas Day now in the UK so a Merry Christmas to fellow Weekenders and everyone at SR

Not only is it Christmas Day but it's also 10 weeks (70 days) sober for me and I am both glad and grateful to be sober at this time of year. This time last year I was drinking all week leading up to Christmas Day and ended up spending much of Christmas Day either in bed or lying on the settee and feeling absolutely dreadful. I missed the family Christmas meal as a result. I felt embarrassed and annoyed with myself. Roll forward 12 months and I am sober and looking forward to the family get together and Christmas meal. What a massive difference it makes being sober.

Welcome RageddyMan.

Well done Robbie. Many a Christmas has passed me by. This is my 4th sober one. Wow never thought I would get here. You will too.

Yes Least Daisy is in purple with here eyes tightly shut.

Glad to see T-Rex has come suitably attired.

So it's here, my most dreaded day of the year. Gonna be a long one but I will get through. I've got to walk the dogs, pick my Dad up, cook dinner, wash up, take my Dad home. And stay sane. Easy.

Least, gosh, 13th consecutive Christmas. Amazing. Merry Christmas

calmself, congratulations on day 41. Keep warm in the snow.

I remember getting to day 7, what an accomplishment for me. Every week therein another milestone on my journey. The days turned into weeks, weeks into months and so on. I really wanted to rush it and not go through the process. Just wanted to be free of wanting booze in my life.
It did happen. Not my way, by rushing it, but the tried and tested ways from people before me who I learnt from here on SR. Baby steps climbs mountains.

Are you cooking turkey and all the trimmings Mags?

I'm not, I have bought a honey roast cooked ham (not for me I don't eat meat) Aunt Bessies roast potatoes and parsnips. Pre made cauliflower cheese. I have just prepared Brussel sprouts which came on a tree -who knew . Starter is prawn cocktail which entails me placing defrosted prawns on baby lettuce leaves. Dessert is lemon meringue roulade courtesy of Sainsburys.

Table is laid.

I even frivolously bought myself flowers as a treat.

The turkey crown is at mum-in-laws. I’m cooking roasts (Aunty Bessies too) and pigs in blankets and taking it over later. We’ll do veg there. (I love cauliflower cheese…no one else here does though! ) Flowers are gorgeous. I love the desserts you can get already done nowadays. Delicious.
