A Safe Haven during holidays and always
Ive been reading the public blog of member bloss. I find her wisdom immensely helpful.
During this holiday, lets keep this in mind as we support one another. As friend Fearlessat50 has on her signature quoting Viktor Frankle, Between every stimulus and response, there is a space ..(and my own input here: .take that space, use it to respond thoughtfully. We know not what hell has brought the, here.
Here is a copy of her blog post which touched me so much:
-
We are all on our own journey, each of us with unique needs, experiences and so on. There is no cookie cutter answer, except to keep going forward in a positive manner, not picking up whatever substance, food, activity or whatever we are addicted and struggling with. The way we all do this varies because we are individuals. But, to be together as a community with the goal of helping each other, no judgment, allows us to say what is on our mind regarding our recovery, and not be afraid of being put down.
I am so grateful to be sober, even though some days are difficult. Having a safe, supportive place to visit anytime of the day is a miracle (in my opinion). I'll keep coming back because it helps. Onward...

I finally read all her posts, including her last post from May of this year, where she had surpassed her nine year mark.
What an incredible journey.
What intense wisdom.

It’s a good reminder that we all come here, from ALL over the world, in need of support, not admonishment or cruel words.
I hope we all remember that as we read and post here.
Y’a know, that old fashioned saying, “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all!”
