I never went to bed-it's 4:30AM and I'm so happy to be alive and sober I just wanna enjoy the day. Maybe I'll crash for an hour or 2 soon.
I've gotten all the gifts I could possibly want. My family-my life. I feel like the luckiest man in the world. I'm so glad you people helped me stand when I couldn't early on. These last almost 6 years have been hard, but such a blessing. I love this life.
I have a giant turkey dinner to cook and copious amounts of Christmas cookies to consume. I'm gonna take up residence in the gym after this holiday. worth it. hahahahha Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone.

Happy Christmas everyone ! Just about to go and make some Christmas pancakes for breakfast .. anyone want any ? (FYI they are the British kind which in the past has got me into trouble with Americans for “not being real pancakes - ha ha ! )

A Christmas party needs a Christmas song, so by mixing up all my musicianship, deep insights on recovery and a mild dose of dark humour, I came up with the master piece below (not copyrighted so feel free to sing along)

Will not drink today
Will not burn the turkey
Will not have to hide away
Will not pass out on the sofa

I’m not sure I can post photos but a British pancake is large and flat and you have it with lemon and sugar or stick anything you want in it then wrap it up whereas an American one is smaller, thicker and has baking powder in it right ? And eaten with maple syrup. One of my closest friends is American and was horrified at my large, flat pancake which had blueberries in the centre and said it just looked I’d wrapped something up in batter and she’d teach me how to “make proper pancakes” ! Our friendship survived nevertheless ..l :-) …but don’t start me on French crepes ..!!!!

My parents used to make Swedish pancakes. They are made with lots of eggs and cream, fried on just one side, and rolled around lingonberries, but we used strawberry jam. Some restaurants in the US offer them, but all they really serve are thin pancakes. I think some people might call what my parent's made "crepes." I'm not sure if they are different.
