You're invited to my virtual Christmas!
This is turning out to be a great event!! The Foo Fighters will be playing some of their favorite holiday tunes, and I can't wait to put on my Christmas hat and eat a ton of spritz cookies and chocolate!!

I spent a day alone once, well a few weeks, whilst my wife was away. For any brits reading, I never saw the TV comedy/drama series Auf Wiedersehen Pet when it was on TV, so I bought a box set of all five (?) series and watched it all in a day or two. No prizes for guessing what else I did whilst vegging out in front of the TV. Yes, I easily hit double figures in the number of beers drank. I wasn’t particularly drunk or even hungover the next day, but that would’ve been 2500 calories and a load of strain on my heart and liver.
It is quite relaxing, though, to binge watch a box set - as long as it’s very occasionally - and I reckon I’ll be doing just that this Xmas day (with cups of tea ). It takes planning 😆 I need to work out what to watch on Prime/Netflix.

Hodd, you reminded me that I once watched the entire series of 'Father Ted' one New Years Eve. A bit dated now but a off beat comedy about three priests who live on Craggy Island ( just off the coast of Ireland). Someone said it was the second best UK comedy ever made - the first being Fawlty Towers. Perhaps a new thread for recommendations for a Sober New years Eve binge watching?

On a more international theme, I bought the box set of Sopranos. It’s so so - the main actors are excellent but the others are pretty unmovable. The trouble is I watched Sopranos during my drinking era so quite a few episodes are a blur. It’s not good enough (in my opinion) to re-watch.
'Boardwalk Empire' was rather good - I actually watched eveything in the last decade whilst drinking pretty heavily but amazingly I can recall the good series - I seem to watch far less stuff now I am sober, I seem to find it harder to be engaged by drama, that or the ones I have tried might just be not that good
