Nods, in my experience, awakening is a loooooong journey. And in some ways, it never ends. But it's great to have started the journey. We are all a work in progress.
I found alcohol well and truly got in the way of my awakening path. It's a poison to my mind, spirit and body.

Hola que tal?
Looking forward to a third day of straight passage.

This site clearly saves many lives, reading the stories inspirational. I quit twice with the power of the comments on this site alone. It wasn't my relationship failing, nor my dad passing, but more the mental strain of Covid, for what it's worth I'm a truther and find what's unfolding very distressing.
I need to stop although it's my only friend right now, every circumstance warrants a drink, then a few more. I was three years clean and read and felt for those starting out, knowing it's possible. Yet here I am now as a starter feeling a million miles away from sobriety. It chips away at every positive piece of the fabric of your life...I know it I just have to respond to my inner voice.
Ha
Happy Christmas

ALways around like you said to me! It's miserable weather here doesn't help. Getting past a week is good and the resolve improved daily. Funnily enough I've not thought about drink much what so ever.
That is awesome Nods!! And I am not talking about the weather. If you do think about drinking, what helped me was to get busy doing something...anything. I found the desire went away after a little while. Keep up the great work! I am rooting for you from here in the states.

Been another drink free thought day. It feels easy but of course that would be reckless thinking.
I'm focussed!
Stay focused..that is what I have to do. I will have see how I do once I fly back tomorrow to help my Mom and MIL while my husband stays here..
The snow in Colorado is far different then eastern snow. It tends to be lighter/powder compared to the wet heavy eastern snow. If you came to the states what are your interests? City, mountains, water?

Ooh I'm an explorer love the open air not the city. I'm spiritual and sense some fantastic sights, smells and sounds in the US. Would also love to marry a non-brit girl.
Hopes for 2022 are big!
We are definitely not city people either and love the fresh air. There is so much to explore here, we have spent 26 years exploring Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Utah. I grew up on the NE which is equally beautiful.
I wish you all of the best
