welcome to a great group of people. You can share your experience(s) or just view the different viewpoints. I have found alot of great info and things on this forum. It helps to get it out instead of keeping it inside. I just got out of an inpatient treatment and entering into outpatient.
I am feeling better each day and getting great sleep. It's awesome to have a clear mind every morning instead of wondering who you txted/called and you can't remember a damn thing you said. That's a really awful feeling and I don't want to go back to that place.

Welcome to SR, great support and information here. I started myself this time last year and struggled the first month on my own but joined the monthly classes and never looked back. Hope you find SR as helpful as I do. Good luck.
Welcome Jessica, we're glad you're here. Take a look around in this Newcomers section, read some posts and keep posting here. This is a very supportive place for people who want to get sober. And you can if you want to!
We also have smaller groups that can be even more supportive because everyone has quit the same month. Feel free to stop in and join the December class if you like:

Hi Jessica and welcome!
This is a great place for support in quitting, and I find it works best if you post when you are tempted to drink to get immediate help in not picking up, and we also have a monthly “class” thread for people who are quitting during a particular month as they are at the same “stage” of quitting—see the December thread and perhaps join up? I also found reading other people’s stories really helpful as we actually are pretty similar in our addictive behaviors as different as we all are as people.
Have you stopped already or still working on it?

Hi Jessica and welcome to SR. With 4 kids and a pitty at home, I'm sure you have plenty of reasons to try and get sober. Without even having to ask, all of us here on SR know how difficult to impossible it can be trying to raise kids, do well at jobs, tend to relationships, take care of pets, etc., all while entertaining a problematic relationship with our drugs of choice. It just gets to be unworkable.
I hope you can make today Day 1 without alcohol. But whatever the case, stay on here and keep letting us know how things are.
