I finally feel like I have caught up on sleep
It's taken me 38 days to feel like the full time fatigue may have left me. Longer than I thought it would. I was so very sleep deprived from the constant drinking. It has continued to get better on this sober journey.
That is good FC. Yeah, the "sleep" we got when we were drinking bore no resemblance at all to actual sleep other than us being in a prone position with our eyes closed. That is where the similarities ended. After living in a completely toxic and exhausted state, it is no wonder that it takes several weeks of actual rest to begin to feel rested. I'm happy for you FC. 38 days is amazing!!!
Sleeping somewhat normally all by itself is a reason I will never poison my body with booze.
I love it when I wake up after getting 7 or so hours of pure sleep. I almost never get it together and it takes about 10 hours in bed to get 7.
Also, I have to make an effort throughout the day to not cause additional stress that haunts me during the night.
I probably say about 10 Lords Prayers/Hail Mary's every night. They really help.
Also I have found that if I watch something I am really interested in on TV, it takes my mind off stressors and then I turn off the TV and fall asleep.
Thanks.
