Another thing done. Got my PCR test. I need to show negative results for Monday.

Packed while very drunk so will have to go back to the house again. My husband won't speak to me, so I'll need my sister to call.

Once that's done and I pick up my credit card I'll be ready for Monday. It'll be a relief to get there. I think I just surrendered!

And you'll be several days 'ahead' already, having already gone through withdrawal.

How are you doing with that?

I found in the end that becoming a person who never drinks entailed a series of surrenders. But it all starts with the first one - feels kind of exciting, doesn't it? You're well and truly ready to start a new chapter. I'm excited for you.

Maybe you can give your sister a list of things you need and she could just go get them? Less disruptive all around...
