As of today I have completed a full year without alcohol!

My life has improved in so many ways. Especially home life - I spend so much more quality time with my wife and son now. I am better rested and anxiety is much reduced. Work is still challenging, but then again, it’s the nature of my work.

I was thinking back to when I was actively drinking. About 2 times a week followed by a terrible hangover that lasted 2 days. Just doing the math on that made me realise how much of time and money I’ve reclaimed by quitting.

Also, so many benefits: waking up early and sober, not having any regrets about what I have said or about behaviour while drinking, no more blackouts, having meaningful conversations with family, reconnecting with them, the list is endless!

Honestly it’s the little things that are so wonderful. Sipping hot coffee in the quiet hours of the morning. Just walking around town in the sunshine, buying groceries with my son, weekend movie marathons with my wife. Even doing the dishes! There is a quiet peace in my life now.
