Had the pill in my mouth

So I am booze free for a good long time. I know better.

I don't want to be high. I like getting high on life.

So, I got home from a crazy busy day of fun, following a fun day, fun week, and fun month.

No drinking.

But, I am sore. My body hurts all over. So I open the cabinet for some ibupro. I see some left over oxy something.

It was from some dental work me and my wife had done fairley recently.

I flushed mine down the drain the day I got them. My wife kept hers.

I grabbed the pills quick, thinking yay! I am sore, this is ok.

The pill was in my mouth with a lemonade chaser. Something stopped me from swallowing it.

I don't need this much strength for my soreness. Some ibu will get it done.

I spit the pill out. Popped the ibu.

The guilt the next day for even thinking about the oxy was fierce. The ibu stopped the inflammation and I felt like a ninja the next day.

No oxy issues here. I plan to flush the oxy when i am done typing. Wife will never miss them.

Addict for life.

Love always.

Thanks.

👏 great choice. But it is best to take the pills to a pharmacy for disposal if you can. Drugs that are flushed end up polluting the environment.

I’m glad you stayed true to yourself D122y.
”if I don’t need it don’t take it” is a pretty wise thing to live by for all of us

Ibuprofen is usually good enough. Stick with the Ibuprofen. It's best to avoid the addictive ones, especially when you don't need them.

Never taken one but can imagine they are addictive. Good job on flushing them.

Whenever I want to feel dizzy, nauseous, and constipated, I just take some oxy-something.
My AV doesn't even seem to like those things.
No desire at all.
Good for me, I guess.

Good job on dumping them. Pills brought me back to rock bottom. Yes I would stick to the ibuprofen or OTC for pain. Most know my history I began to abuse my prescription opiates over time. Today I have 517 days of recovery. Cold baths ice packs and good nutrition has helped tremendously with my arthritis. Now that I think of it I haven't used any OTC pain medication. Still growing in my recovery don't want to get back into magic pills popping for everything. At my low I dumped a bottle of pills in the toilet to only grab them back out to take them. What the hell was I thinking.

Be careful my friend pills are tricky. Especially over time from my experience.

I had surgery in August. Doc gave me 30 Vicodin. I still have 30 Vicodin. I would rather sit in pain than take those things. The side effects are so bad I don't even want them for their legitimate purpose. I cannot fathom why anyone takes them when they don't absolutely have to. I assume their experience is much different than mine.

I applaud your strength in being able to spit the pill out. I'm not there yet, but I will be. Thank you for sharing with us. Its reading things like this that help me to see there is hope for this addiction

I took T-3s after surgery once and the side effects were so bad, I'll never take them again. Turned out to be an allergy.
