Geezers need excitement

That’s what a lyric says from a “the streets” song says. Wanting more excitement is one of my many withdrawal feelings. Day 10.

I thought this might have been a male equivalent of Cyndi Lauper's 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun'! But yes, it's a good song by The Streets.

Well done on day 10. Yes, sobriety can sometimes seem a little dull in the early days but drinking / drugs is not the way to achieve it. Is there anything you could do today that can help shake off the withdrawal feelings? I find going for a long walk helps.

I’ve decided

I’ve decided I’m going to hit a charity shop and try to find a jigsaw. Not exactly exciting but that will keep me busy Robbie. Thanks for the reply. I like walking too. How long do you walk for? I aim for about an hour a day.

Your so right drinking drugging isn’t the way.

A jigsaw sounds good. There's a number of posters here at SR who do jigsaws. I'm not one of them as unfortunately I haven't got the patience for doing them but many people do say doing a jigsaw puzzle is a great way of relaxing.

Agree with you there! So brain dead.....coffee, music, Netflix, tasty food has all helped me to secure the first few days 🙂
Are you in London, LeadHatter?
I'm going to write a gratitude list now...

LeadHatter, life was long party when I drank…or so I thought. I blanked most of life and lived for booze, had my own party. The reality was I had regrets hangovers, short of money and always wondered if I’d said anything I shouldn’t, lost anything. Life was one long anxiety.
Stopping boozing I felt life was biting initially but the more sober I got the more happier and content with life.

Enjoy your walk and Jigsaws. You can get some good bargains from the charity shops!

Live's don't provide it, stay inside violence. Common sense.

We have a 'jigsaw puzzle' thread in the forum Cafe Central. Give it a look. :)
