I知 gonna stay sober today

I知 white knuckling it if I知 honest. I thought it would be easy this sobriety lark. I was wrong.

The mood swings are the biggest surprise, I don稚 remember getting them last time I got sober. Maybe I did I just forgot, it was ten years ago.

So tonight I知 going to have an early night and tomorrow morning stay in bed as long as I like because maybe I知 over tired and this is having a negative effect on my mental health.

Talking with another addict helped me this evening as did treating myself with a couple of Big Macs.

I guess now is the time to dig deep and read some AA literature.

Regards LH

Hang in there.
I quite like the idea of a couple of big macs!

It’s not easy LH but it is possible - use all the support you have

Just take it one day at a time. Ask yourself what you want to accomplish today and how drinking would prevent that?

That sounds like a plan.
During early recovery I really enjoyed talking with other alcoholics at AA gatherings, particularly hanging out outside after the meetings. Still do.
Although we're all from different backgrounds, it was really stunning to find how alike we really are.

Thanks for your honesty. All I know is that the more time you have then the more things balance out. But the first few weeks are hard and there are scientific reasons as to why.

This time around my mood has been explosively irritable, I am simply too much this way to even leave the flat. Going to bed early is a good idea I think. Well done for posting, it helps. I have slight headaches currently. Blah blah, good morning! ☕

Thanks folks

Up early again feeling relatively fine.

Remembered the HALT system last night (hungry angry lonely tired), I was hungry and tired and remembered also that I could treat myself with food. Going forward I値l make sure as much as I can that I don稚 go HALT.

sorry to hear you have headaches and feel explosively irritable UFS. As listae says perhaps the irritability will balance itself out with more sober time. If the headaches relate to sobriety I guess they will too.
