Day 500
Day 500
“The only way that you’re ever going to get to the other side of this journey is by suffering. You have to suffer in order to grow. Some people get it, some people don’t.” David Goggins
This quote has been very inspiring to me and has kept me on track with my journey in recovery.

This is true. The only reason I relapsed is because I ran from mental anguish, I had 440 days sober....the moment we run, we risk losing it all. Of course nothing can take my sober time away, but.....it is multiple years I want, and I know in order to achieve this I will need to continue practising sitting through uncomfortable mental states. Congratulations on 500 days!!! Keep going and keep going.

Before I used to be very passive when going through mental health issues. I used to fake it to I make mentality like everything okay which left me with alot of resentment towards others. At first it felt very uncomfortable to say no and put myself first . Because I would try to avoid conflict even at the expense of my own happiness. But over time in recovery my self worth and self esteem has grown to put myself first. Another good quote. My recovery must come first so everything I love won't come last. It might rub some people the wrong way but if they cannot respect it. Then it was nice knowing you no hard feelings people change for the good aswell as the bad. I choose to surround myself with the good and work through the bad so I can become a better person. Have a amazing day everyone and thank you for the support.

Congratulations!
Congratulations on 400 days! And thank you for sharing your wisdom! I have 29 days and love reading about those who have so much longer term sobriety. I see my 29 days as time in a savings account that I don’t want to squander.
