The bears and lemurs are great!

Bimini, I hope they were just trying out something new that will help stabilize the grid.

In a bind, and while camping, I make coffee in a pot on the gas stove and poor it through a strainer to get the grounds out. Doesn't help if you don't have a gas stove.

People get me Starbucks gift cards so I hit one occasionally. Usually get the Pikes Place, LOL.

Stabalize the grid? Our power goes out pretty frequently, but we have above ground wires, huge trees, unstable muddy hills and lots of wind and rain.

Further south the power lines are buried and they almost never lose power. Some day maybe.

No gas stove. No gas at all, I'm in a condo. I do have a Coleman stove but that's just for 2-day power outs. I really need a small propane or oil space heater, but so far I haven't frozen during a power out.

G'nite Weekenders.

Good Morning Weekenders

I love all the hedges. Must take a lot of patience and time to get them right.

Hope everyone is ok….shout out if you’re struggling.

Love to all. xxxx

Morning all,

Mags 3.20 am? That is early even for you. I hope you're not in pain.

I'm a tea drinker and decaf at that, never had a cup of coffee in all my life.

I wonder if @lunar is lurking about. I have a fish problem and he is our resident expert. One of my koi has got a huge tumour on its face. It has now covered his eye. I have had him about 10 years. I phoned the local water garden specialist some weeks ago and they just said it is one of those things, no cure. He is still eating and swimming about normally. I am worried he might be suffering and not sure what to do.

Fencer is mean't to be coming Friday to replace the dodgy panel, just like he was last Friday. I won't hold my breath. I wish he would at least let me know he is not coming instead of me sitting here waiting.

Morning, I second what Kaily said Mags, I hope your wrist isn't giving you too much gip.

Never drunk coffee, wow! Well done on the decaf.

Bim, I hope your power has been restored by now, what a nuisance. We have some nationwide natural gas supply issues here in the UK, something that is being masked by the more immediate problem of the lack of petrol (gas) at the forecourts. Joy.

Love the Lemurs

Here be dragons (well, a dragon)

I’m ok thanks Kaily and Saou, just aches but bearable, I couldn’t get back to sleep so I got up. I didn’t realise the time. the cats thought it was great. They’ve had their grub, been out and now curled fast asleep.

Lovely dragon!

Morning all!

Good to hear that your wrist isn't causing too much pain Mags.

I'm in the Kaily camp, I don't drink coffee! I don't like the stuff, it's tea all the way for me. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

There was a "UFO" over northern England last night and I missed it. My local town Facebook page is full of people posting night sky pictures of it and it's now just been on the national news. Strange triangular shaped lights were seen hovering and then slowly moving in the night sky all over the region. It turns out it was Atlas V, a rocket launched yesterday from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, entering the atmosphere. It was apparently last seen heading north across the UK which is what these sightings were. It's not quite X-Files spooky stuff but I would love to have seen it.

Sorry the rocket caused such a stir. At least there was something to take people's minds off fuel shortages and such.

That is a friendly looking dragon.

I should probably cut back on coffee.

We saw it here too, quite the sight! How cool would it be if it couldn't be identified!

Sigh. I am working from home for a couple of days until I can get a covid test. I let my guard down on Saturday at my class reunion. I stood and talked to an old friend who had made the trip all the way from Atlanta. We took our masks off (both vaccinated, he works from home, felt the risk was low). He texted me yesterday around noon that he had started feeling a little ill on Sunday morning, and he went to get tested yesterday morning. Positive. The soonest I can get an accurate test is tomorrow morning. I felt like it was the right thing to do to stay home until I know I'm negative. My man friend is doing the same - he was at the reunion briefly with me (he did not talk to my friend) but we did spend the whole day together on Sunday. He's getting tested Thursday. I have been SO careful up until now. I feel like an idiot. I feel absolutely fine, so I'm hoping for the best but planning for the worst. I have plenty of supplies at home in case I have to actually quarantine.

Aww, MLD - I'm sorry. I hope it comes back negative.

None of us have been 100% careful, especially after vaccination. I spent a whole morning at the zoo with an old friend who flew in from out of state and we didn't wear masks. It's been over a week ago, but, ya know...

In related news - this morning I'm getting my third jab. ("Booster")

MLD51, fingers crossed that everything is fine and that you test negative (<-- or maybe that should be a socially distanced hug!)

Love the dragon hedge and all the hedges; people are so clever.

Hope that your test is negative, Marty.

Well done on the booster, Bim.

The “UFO” must have been a cool sight.

Have a lovely day, all.
