New Again

Been a long time using Hydromorphone and I have completely lost myself to this drug.
I have tried to wean down but I have not had any long time success.
My dr prescribes me a 150 2 mg pills every 2 weeks and I can’t get any lower than that. I’ve been on long acting and short acting but managed to lose the long acting so it’s now between 8-10 a day.
My question is what are some of the thoughts you all have on using methadone or sub ozone to finally get off them? Is there a dependency risk on them as well?
Thanks in advance ✌️

Welcome back IslaGirl

I have no experience to share but perhaps others will.

Welcome back! I have no experience with opiates either but you'll probably find that in our substance abuse forums. Can you ask the doctor who gave them to you to help you get off of them?

From the get-go: absolutely not medical advice, just my own experience. I had major back surgery and had same medication, same dosage. I was still flat on my back 24/7 after 45 days but knew as an alcoholic in recovery that I was getting hooked. I said no to a refill and my surgeon stepped me down to morphine sulfate. That being said, I can't imagine not going through a physician for this situation. I would think that a group or forum would be helpful for info, support and aftercare, but it's not a substitute. Hydromorphone is serious stuff. I say that as a recovering alcoholic whose drug of choice has always been alcohol, not pills.

Again, nothing here is medical advice.

Wish you the best. SS
